<p>Today I am going to share with you a closely held secret plus my all  time favorite <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/exercise/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Exercise">exercise</a> how to get washboard abs&#8230; at the same time  sculpt your abs, <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/get-leaner-legs/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Get Leaner Legs">get leaner legs</a> and <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/firm-your-butt/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Firm Your Butt">firm your butt</a>!</p>
<p>Sounds good so far? But wait there&#8217;s more! (OK, I&#8217;m been listening  to Ron Popeil on the late night TV commercials&#8230; so sue me).<br />

<p>All good stuff and here is how to do it.</p>
<p>First of all, if you want to get great abs&#8230; you need to understand  this&#8230; there are no &#8220;magic exercises&#8221; that you can do to lose the last  few pounds of flab and expose flat, toned abs. You have to do whole  body exercises to speed up your metabolism and boost your <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/fat/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Fat">fat</a> burning  hormones.</p>
<p>That is really it! The secret of natural bodybuilders and <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/fitness/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Fitness">fitness</a>  models&#8230; if you do these three things&#8230; you will burn <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/fat/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Fat">fat</a> like  nobody&#8217;s business. <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/strength-training/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Strength Training">Strength training</a>, interval exercises and proper  diet.</p>
<p>But today we are going to focus on the <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/strength-training/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Strength Training">strength training</a> <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/workout/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with workout">workout</a>  that you can do in the privacy of your own home that will give your legs  a good sore and might even cramp your butt for the first few times&#8230;  but hey, nothing good is ever gained by doing nothing&#8230; right?</p>
<p>So here goes:</p>
<p>I call this the walking lunges. Find a room in your house that you  can comfortably do 5-10 large steps without tripping over the  furniture&#8230;</p>
<p>Now you know what a lunge is? You just take a large step forward.  Well the walking lunge is when you continue to the next leg <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/moving/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with moving">moving</a>  forward.</p>
<p>Now as you take a big step forward, pause, bend your rear and go  down until your shin is parallel to the floor.</p>
<p>So step forward, bend the rear leg and bring it down and up. And  then take the next step forward. And yeah, you don&#8217;t want your rear knee  to touch the ground&#8230; that is too far down.</p>
<p>Continue doing this until you have done at least 10 walking lunges.</p>
<p>Now for two variations! This time&#8230; instead of your toes pointing  straight ahead&#8230; angle the toe inward for another 10 walking lunges.  And you may have a little trouble figuring it out at first but after a  few times&#8230; it will be easy like riding a bicycle&#8230;</p>
<p>And the next variation you should try is to point your toe outward  and repeat the walking lunges.</p>
<p>Doing these two variations will work out your inner thighs and outer  thighs.</p>

<li>Week 1 &#8211; Cut down your calories. Don&#8217;t go drastic, just start to eat  less with each meal. Start doing some form of <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/exercise/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Exercise">exercise</a> 3 times a week  for at least 20 minutes. Don&#8217;t even worry about doing any ab exercises  this week. This week is all about warming your body up and not shocking  it too hard. Most people go too hard there first week and burn their  body out. If you go too hard, too soon you won&#8217;t get results. And no  matter how hard you go, the body just isn&#8217;t going to respond to  everything at once in the first week. Ease into it. <span id="more-107"></span></li>

<li>Week 2 &#8211; Keep cleaning up your diet, eating a bit less this week and  getting rid of the obvious fatty foods. <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/exercise/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Exercise">Exercise</a> 4 times a week, shoot  for 30 minutes a session. Start implementing abdominal exercises, but  just pick one and do it 3 times this week. Step it up, but again, don&#8217;t  go into overdrive.</li>

<li>Week 3 &#8211; Now you really want to zero in more on diet. Cut out all  heavy carbohydrates, such as bread and pastas. Big carbohydrate meals  are notorious for putting on <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/fat/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Fat">fat</a> and not allowing the body to burn the  existing <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/fat/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Fat">fat</a>. Try to eat mainly vegetables for carbohydrates, some  fruit, and some servings of grains (for instance 1 bowl of oatmeal per  day). <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/exercise/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Exercise">Exercise</a> 5 times a week for 30-40 minutes a session and do 2  abdominal exercises 3 times a week.</li>

<li>Week 4 &#8211; Basically the same as week 3, with further concentration on  vegetables as your main carb source. Continue your cardiovascular  <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/exercise/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Exercise">exercise</a> shooting for 40-45 minutes a session, and add a third ab  <a href="http://www.fitness-inside.com/tag/exercise/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Exercise">exercise</a> to your routine.</li>
</ul>

You should definitely see some results, and depending on your  condition at the start you may see full on abs, or at least an outline  of washboards (meaning you&#8217;ll have to keep going to get full on  washboard abs).</p>
